DAY 1 : CANOPY / NATIVE FAMILY VISIT / SANDOVAL LAKE

  • Pick up from the airport or bus station, transfer to the river port (Capitania Port), one hour travel down river by boat.
  • Then we will visit a native family, where we will learn about their culture.  
  • After, we will go to a restaurant for lunch. 
  • After lunch, we will travel about 30 minutes to reach a tower that is 27 meters high, which will allow us to reach a suspension bridge. We will cross the bridge among trees reaching 89 meters tall at a height of 37 meters in the middle of the main branches of an ancient tree. This will provide a great opportunity to see animals that are impossible to see from the ground.
  • We will then prepare for a pure adrenaline rush – zip-lining. We will feel like birds as we fly along a cable, covering over 190 meters in mere seconds.
  • Then we will arrive at another hanging bridge over 75 meters long and 27 meters high, after which we will glide along anothercable that is 160 meters long. We 100% guarantee safety, fun, and adrenaline during this adventure.
  • After, we will travel in our boat to Sandoval Oxbow Lake, and from there we will enter the Tambopata National Reserve by foot. 
  • After the entry checkpoint, we will walk for about an hour and a half until we arrive at Maloka Sandoval Lodge where we will stay in our rooms near the lake. The lodge has private bathrooms and showers. 
  • In the evening we will explore to look for the eyes of caimans.

DAY 2 : MACAW PALM LICK/ SWIMMING IN THE LAKE

  • We will get up very early to go to see macaw palm lick, which is a special place around the National Reserve where different types of macaws and parrots go to eat in the dead palms. The palms are rich in minerals such as calcium, sodium, potassium, etc. which are very important for digestion. 
  • Then we will go back to the lodge for breakfast. 
  • After breakfast we will go for a walk to see the amazing flora, and along the way we can see some mammals, such as monkeys, deer, peccaries, tapirs, sloth, anteaters, etc. 
  • Then we will return to the lodge for lunch. 
  • After lunch we can swim in the lake. 
  • After that we will visit Sandoval Lake on canoe where we will see the diversity of flora and fauna around the lake. 
  • Then we go back to the lodge for dinner. 
  • After dinner we can take a hike to see nocturnal animals as: night birds, insect, spiders, tarantulas, scorpions, frogs, etc. 
  • We overnight in our comfortable lodge.

Day 3 : LAKE SANDOVAL / PUERTO MALDONADO / AIRPORT

  • Early morning after breakfast we will walk in the same way back to Puerto Maldonado and then to the airport or bus station, if you don’t have an early flight or bus, can stay in Puerto Maldonado.
